Description
A Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Horse & Rider. The horse with its head turned to its left, the rider sitting upright in the act of holding the horse’s reins. Cold-painted in a base coat of creamy-white pigment on top of which are very good remains of other coloured pigments. Height 35.5cm (14 inches). Tang Dynasty (AD 618 – 906).

Provenance: from the collection of the late Brian Page (1938-2018), the well-known Oriental art and antiques dealer from Brighton.
