Item Details
Description
Ancient Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A beautiful statue depicting a female concubine, hand-carved from hard wood, standing with delineated feet atop an integral rectangular plinth. The nude figure has ample hips and a slightly concave abdomen, holds her left hand atop her pubic area, and displays a black-painted pectoral collar above her voluptuous breasts. Recessed triangular eyes, a thin mouth, a triangular nose, and full cheeks comprise her serene countenance, all framed between a rounded coiffure and bangs. Egyptian wooden sculptures are exceedingly rare due to the typical rapid decomposition of organic materials when placed inside tombs, and this fine patina-covered example is of no exception! Custom wooden display stand included. Size: 2.625" W x 9.25" H (6.7 cm x 23.5 cm); 10.625" H (27 cm) on included custom stand.
